Gold went to Mattia Furlani with a personal best jump of 8.39m and Yuhao Shi of China took the bronze with his season best of 8.33m
Gayle opened the competition and immediately took the lead with his leap of 8.33m, and he extended it to 8.34m in the fourth round, however , Furlani in the fifth round settled the contest with his 8.39m effort.
