
Oblique Seville (gold)and Kishane Thompson (silver) share the spotlight at the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo Japan
KINGSTON, Jamaica-
Oblique Seville has put back Jamaica’s male sprinting at the top where it belongs, he ran an impressive personal best of 9.77s to beat his fellow countryman Kishane Thompson 9.82s, to take gold at the World Athletics Championship in Tokyo Japan today.
Seville who had indicated earlier this year that he knows he was amount the best in world, and that he was very confident that in time he will deliver. Well today he did.
With a reaction time of 0.157, Seville got out his blocks like a bullet from a gun, and with Thompson whose reaction time was 0.160 threatening to steal the show, Oblique with focus and strength, kept his strides to claim the coveted gold.
Noal Lyles was was third with a 9.89s and Kenneth Bednarek fourth with 9.92.
Letsile Tebogo was earlier disqualified for his false-start.
