Kenny Bednarek, Diribe Welteji, Matthew Hudson-Smith and Gabby Thomas were each made $usd 100, 000.00 richer , when they crowned Slam Champions at the inaugural staging of the Grand Slam Track meet inside the national stadium tonight.
Kenny Bednarek who was impressive over the two days won the men’s 200m in 20.07 tonight to secured maximum 24-points, having won the men’s 100m last night.
Finishing second last night, Diribe Welteji went one better on the night. She won the women’s 1500m in 4:04:51 to amassed 20-points and the title of Slam Champion.
Having secured 12-points from last night’s 200m, Gabby Thomas earned an additional eight-points from her second place finish behind Salwa Eid Naser in the women’s 400m, to be crowned champion.
Matthew Hudson-Smith was impressive in winning the men’s 200m in 20.77 seconds totaled 20-points , having picked up eight points on Friday for his second place finished in the 400m.
