Firey spells of fast bowling from pacers Alzarri Joseph 3-19 and Shamar Josephs 2 for 26 have kept the 3rd Test Match between West Indies and Australia evenly poised at Sabina Park.
Shamar knocked over the opening pair of Sam Konstas (0) and Usman Khawaja (14) to have the Australians reeling at 19 for 2 after 6 overs.
Alzarri joined the attack with a barrage of short pitch and pacey deliveries, and he had Steve Smith flinching and ducking ball after ball. Alzarri, with superb timing and intelligence, pitched one up and Steve Smith could only manage to inside edged the ball onto his stumps , leaving Australia 28 for 3.
It took a lowdown catch by Kevion Anderson off the bowling of Justin Greave to dismiss Travis Head, who had poked at a good length ball outside his offstump. Head made 16.
The hostility of Alzarri Joseph contiuned in the 21th over as he accounted for the wickets of Beau Webster majestically bowled for 13, and Alex Carey -who had earlier had a horrible time with the gloves- caught by Brandon King at first slips, playing a sensless shot without adding to Australia’s score of 69.
Cameron Green who came in at number 3, has found a useful partner in Pat Cummins. The pair has so far added 30 runs for the seventh wicket , with Green on 42 off 65 delivery with six boundaries and Cummins on five.
Scores in the Match at the end of day two, Australia 225 and 99 for 6, West Indies 143/10.
