Oblique Seville at the JAAA National Championship, National Stadium, June 27, 2025.
Saluting at the 95-meter mark and crossing the finish-line in 9.86 seconds, that was how Oblique Seville beat Olympic Champion Noah Lyles (10.0) yesterday, at the London Diamond League in England.
Like a hare on steroids, that was how Oblique got out from the starting blocks , and with consummate ease and lengthening strides, he took full control of the race at the 60-meter mark.
Seville stuck to his race plan and imperiously pulled away from the field, and he had time enough to take his foot off the accelerator, and to salute as he crossed the finish-line.
Speaking after the race , Oblique expressed how special it was to have won, and that he knows that he is one of the top elite athletes in the world. Oblique admitted that he just needs to deliver on the world stage, but he is very confident that one day it will happen .
